Sensational fish dishes right on the beach – Vota Vota Sampieri

Do you want to try amazing seafood while having a nice view over the beach, then Vota Vota Sampieri is the place for you.

Last September, we were on a fantastic journey through the southeast of Sicily. We enjoyed great dishes with plenty of fresh fish and seafood, served in all varieties.

On the beach of Sampieri, you will find a restaurant called Vota Vota exclusively open during the summer months. A simple wooden hut painted in white, surrounded by a wonderful summer feeling. You can either sit on the ravishing terrace or enjoy the cleanly decorated interior, pleasantly cooled down during hot days.

The chefs Giuseppe Causarano and Antonio Colombo are delivering true works of art convincing with exceptional taste and a deep respect for local products. There is no distinction between antipasto and secondo on the menu, only the primi are listed separately on the menu. So you can just pick whatever you like the most.

As starters, we enjoyed the mussels with mint, ginger and lemongrass and the grilled pulpo accompanied by guacamole and green apple. Afterwards, we had the spaghetti with garlic, chili and seafood, as well as the lime ricotta ravioli with octopus sauce and candied date-tomatoes. Everything was delicious – but the two starters just blew us away with their innovative combinations of flavors.

To accompany the meal, the friendly waitress recommended a local white wine: SP68 Bianco Terre Siciliane IGT Occhipinti consisting of the Moscato di Alessandria and Albanello grape varieties – a dynamic, modern wine with a lot of aroma, quite extraordinary due to its biological cultivation and the non-Filtration.

If you are close to Sampieri, you must eat at Vota Vota. The atmosphere at the beach is just wonderful. And by the way, Vota Vota has a “bigger sister” located in Marina di Ragusa, open all year.
