- 1/2 green chili without seeds
Instructions
Lemon-thyme-chili infused suger syrup
The best way to prepare a syrup for cocktails is to boil water together with sugar in the ratio 1:2. This thick version of a simple syrup intensifies the taste of your cocktail and doesn’t dilute it as much as weak syrups do.
- 200 g sugar
- 100 ml water
- some fresh lemon-thyme springs
- 1/2 green chili without seeds
Just put the water, the lemon-thyme springs, the green chili and the sugar in a pan and heat them up. As soon as the water boils, slightly reduce the heat and let the sugar dissolve. Keep the liquid boiling and thickening until there are no sugar crystals left. Make sure that the sugar doesn’t caramelize and don’t let your syrup become too thick. Once finished, pour the syrup through a sieve in a glass bottle and store it in the refrigerator. Unopened, the syrup is usable up to half a year and after opening the bottle, for about 6 weeks.
Mix the Bourbon Peach Smash
Prepare all the ingredients and mix the pureed peaches with the lemon and the lime juice. Pour this mix in a shaker and add the sugar syrup, the bourbon and 6 ice cubes. Shake the cocktail well to ensure that the sugar syrup mixes up with the other ingredients. Afterwards, pour everything in the arranged glasses (through a sieve, i.e. without the ice cubes) and decorate the drink with a lemon-thyme spring.
Et voilà, it’s ready to serve. Enjoy!
